Mission of the Operational Support
The mission of the operational support is to assist the university's education and research.
KTH's operational support is in an exciting phase where we are working together to develop our working methods. Job Responsibilities
KTH is now seeking qualified and engaged economists for the finance department. The role of the EU economist plays an important part in supporting the school's institutions and their researchers/project leaders in financial administrative matters related to EU-funded projects.
As an EU economist with us, you will be responsible for the financial management of research projects, from budgeting for grant applications, budgeting for approved projects to project accounting. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the school's researchers/project leaders. The work includes tasks such as:
- advising and supporting in budgeting for applications
- project budgeting after approved applications
- final accounts and follow-up of revenues and costs within EU-funded grant projects, financial reporting to funders, and participation in audits in accordance with EU regulations and KTH's internal guidelines
- communication with the EU Commission and participating partners to ensure compliance with financial and administrative requirements
- supporting researchers throughout the project cycle, from application to completed projects with a focus on financial administrative tasks
- other tasks may also occur
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in economics or equivalent work experience
- Experience working with accounting and follow-up
- Communicative ability and the ability to explain financial concepts in an understandable way
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing – both languages are required in daily work as we operate in an international environment
- Good knowledge of the Office suite
- Experience working in business systems (e.g., Agresso, SAP, or similar)
To succeed in the role of EU economist, you need to be independent, structured, quality-conscious, and service-oriented. Additionally, you should have pedagogical insight and thrive in an environment with many contact points and varied tasks.
Meritorious
- Experience independently working with accounting, final accounts, and reporting of grant-funded projects.
- Experience working with budgets and forecasts and supporting a management function in financial matters.
- Experience with similar tasks at KTH or another higher education institution or other research-intensive organization or authority
- Experience working in Agresso
